Terms of use
Last updated September 30, 2026
The short version: Yearfolio is a budgeting tool, your numbers stay yours, please use the service fairly, and it comes with no warranty. The rest is detail.
What Yearfolio is
Yearfolio is a personal budgeting tool for planning a year and completing it month by month. It is not a bank, a payment service, or a financial adviser. It does the sums on the numbers you type in. What you do with the result is up to you.
Your account
Using Yearfolio means creating an account and accepting these terms.
- One account per person. It is personal, and not built for sharing.
- Use an email address you control. It is how you verify the account, reset a password, and confirm a deletion.
- Keep your password and your email account safe. Anything done from a signed-in session counts as done by you, so sign out on a shared computer.
A few things to avoid
Nothing surprising, just the ordinary limits:
- Do not use Yearfolio for anything unlawful, or to hold data you have no right to hold.
- Do not attack, probe or overload the service, or go looking for another user’s data.
- Do not send more traffic than the service was built for, and do not scrape it in bulk.
- Do not resell the service or rebrand it as your own.
Your data stays yours
You keep every right to the budget data you enter. We use it only to run the service, as set out in the privacy policy. You can export a year as CSV or delete the account at any time. We claim no ownership of what you put in, and we do not use it to train anything.
Availability
Yearfolio is run by a small team, and we run it as well as we can. There is no uptime guarantee, maintenance can take it offline for a while, and features will change over time. If it ever shuts down, you will get notice and plenty of time to export your data first.
No warranty, and not financial advice
The service is provided as is, without warranties of any kind, as far as the law allows. The plain version of that sentence is this: Yearfolio can be wrong. A figure typed in a hurry, a rounding, an outage part-way through completing a month. So check the numbers that matter before you act on them, and treat an estimate as an estimate, not as advice.
If you use Yearfolio as a consumer, nothing here removes the rights your local law gives you. Where they clash with this section, your rights win.
Liability
The usual limits, and only the usual ones. As far as the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for lost profit, or for a money decision you took using Yearfolio. Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law does not let us limit, such as for death, personal injury, or fraud.
Ending it, from either side
You can delete your account whenever you like, under Settings → Security. That ends these terms for you, with no notice and no reason needed.
On our side, closing an account is a last resort: an account that seriously breaks the rules above, or one the law requires us to close. Whenever we can, you will hear from us first and get a chance to export your data.
Changes to these terms
These terms may be updated. The date at the top shows when they last changed. If a change makes a real difference, we will tell you by email before it takes effect. If you keep using Yearfolio after that, you accept the new version. If it does not suit you, you are free to export your data and close the account.
